Young Writers Camp 2017


Redwood Writing Project is pleased to provide the opportunity during the summer break for families seeking a supportive, fun environment for their incoming 4th-9th grade students.  The Young Writers Camp is designed to inspire creative thinking and provide fun writing opportunities.  Students of all writing abilities are welcome to attend.  Each day will include sessions similar to Song Writing, Comic Strip Making, Poetry, Nature Writing, and Digital Stories with breaks for team building and relaxation exercises.  SHhh!  There’s also a surprise special guest speaker!

Topics:  This year’s topics may include comic strip writing, song writing, and graphic novels.

Young Writers Conference

Our Young Writers Conference is back!  Young Writers grades 4th-9th have the opportunity to join us for our one day intensive Young Writers Conference in the spring.  This year’s Write On! 2017 Young Writers Conference was Saturday, March 25th.  Topics included Comic Strips, Science-Fiction/Fantasy, Song Writing, and Graphic Novels and were taught by our Young Writer Programs Director and McKinleyville High School Librarian, Marsha Mielke, Dan Levinson of California Poets in the Schools and Buzz Parker, Comic Illustrator for Emily.
